AP Language Composition
AP Language and Composition examines the written word. Students who elect this junior English program are engaged in becoming skilled readers of prose written in a variety of periods, disciplines, and rhetorical contexts, and in becoming skilled writers who compose for a variety of purposes. Students who elect this class will discover that both their writing and reading opportunities will make them aware of the interactions of the writer, his purpose, and his audience.
Additionally, the course also prepares students for the AP Language and Composition exam in May. Successful completion of the course and the AP Language and Composition exam may earn high school students college credit. At the end of the course, students are expected to have a better understanding of citizenry and demonstrate a mastery of skills that are equal to freshman university study and application.
